Pitch an explanation, comparison, short history, myth-check or occasion-specific piece connected to hobbies and leisure. Strong ideas have a clear reader in mind, a distinct angle and a useful reason to read now. We welcome pitches about creative pursuits, outdoor pastimes, collecting and making space for enjoyable routines.

What to include

Send a concise summary of the proposed piece, its central point, the readers it is for and why you are well placed to write it. Mention any relevant sources or potential conflicts of interest. Please pitch the idea rather than sending a finished article unless we have asked for one.
